THE PLOT
tom hanks (tomi aderibigbe) takes us through his life on campus, on how he searched for love and his expulsion due to a fight for a dream, the movie takes us through the lives of 11 young undergraduates; himself, laure akinsola, kourtney powell, bryan roberts, sandra smith, kevin akinwumi, kenneth harrison, nancy uche, robert onifade, michelle smith and dave scott. Thesee 11 students struggled their way into each other's heart, revealing comically the struggle african youths face in search of love. it also reveal the real pictures from a typical african campus
THE HISTORY, PROFILE, FACTS
born in May 2009, revolution ent. inc. announced that it would release the first african romantic comedy titled 'IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG' with promise by the members of the board to release 'at least eight' new set of a-list actors into nollywood, the world's second largest movie industry. work started earnestly with the tapping of wisdom from elites in hollywood, and the writing of script which included the review of a typical African campus through which REVOLUTION announced in August 2009 that the movie would still be shot but has been postponed due to what the board described as 'lack of equipments (modern) in Africa and high budget'.
In august 2009, REVOLUTION announced a change in plan, and stated that a script would be ready in 2010 that would be the first ever romantic comedy on african soil and gave the title as ' when friend fall in love' with a report that the movie will be a series with few episodes.
November 29, 2009 was a very spectacular day for this project when REVOLUTION conducted its first major audition with saw to the appointment of some cast and crew members of the incorporation. After a strong review, REVOLUTION again came with a change of mind, making the movie a motion picture with no episodes giving reason for this as this project being their maiden edition and the fact that they would love a good and supervisable distribution network.REVOLUTION also released the fact of the movie as follows:
- to be premiered at the 'festival of love and entertainment' in one of Nigerian major universities.
- a movie to be the first in africa to be subtitled in three foreign languages
- the first african movie with 80% of the cast and crew being under the age of 21
- the first movie in Africa which a script review conference tipped it to lead the United states
box office, United kingdom box office and Nigerian box office
- the first movie in Africa with the largest number of ctive cast and crew mwmbers (42 crew, 200
cast)
Revolution also promised that, if the movie does not break box offices and win at least 20 awards , then the project would be evaluated;failure
THE CAST
REVOLUTION has delined comments over question of if known figures would be featured in the movie but stated thatnjew faces, thorougly screened and taught would take major lead and sub-lead roles. On the risk involved, REVOLUTION announced that they are ready to take the risk for the good story and said 'these guys are students, no one can tell a campus story better than them, its a campus comedy , they are students, funny students'
